"Hefei Home", let the people in Xizang earthquake area warm over the winter!

At the end of 2023, a batch of folding box houses will depart from Hefei to support the earthquake stricken areas in Gansu; At the beginning of 2025, with a new mission, these folding wing houses came to the earthquake stricken areas in Xizang to build a new "Hefei Home" and continue to bring warmth to the earthquake stricken people. On January 12th, the first batch of 20 foldable box houses donated by Anhui Zeyu Color Steel have been built in Dingri County, and villagers will gradually move into "new homes" that can prevent wind and cold.

At 8:05 on January 7, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Dingri County, Shigatse City, Xizang. The Hefei Emergency Association actively follows the earthquake disaster situation, understands the situation in the disaster area through various channels, closely monitors the progress of rescue efforts, and multiple member companies have expressed their willingness to provide necessary support and assistance to the disaster area.

At around 16:00 on January 9th, the Hefei Emergency Association received a request letter from the Shigatse Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, revealing that the local area was severely affected by the disaster, with large-scale damage to farmers' houses. Currently, the local temperature ranges from -1 ℃ to -18 ℃, and there is an urgent need to build temporary resettlement houses for the disaster stricken people, hoping to assist in the construction of temporary color steel plate houses.

After receiving the request for help, two member units of Hefei Emergency Association, Anhui Zeyu Color Steel Structure Co., Ltd. and Anhui Guangshan Public Welfare Service Center, responded immediately and began coordinating transportation, loading and unloading work. Lu Wei, Deputy Secretary General of Hefei Emergency Association, revealed that "Anhui Zeyu has provided assistance to a batch of foldable mobile box houses, which are easy to transport and quickly built, and are very suitable for use in disaster areas

On the evening of January 9th, the loading of 20 sets of foldable mobile box houses was completed. At 9:00 on January 10th, this batch of foldable mobile box houses departed from Lhasa and after more than 10 hours of travel, successfully arrived at the epicenter of Dingri County.

The Hefei Emergency Association and its team also set off urgently from Hefei to the disaster area to participate in disaster relief coordination work. After coordination between Anhui Guangshan Public Welfare Service Center and local authorities in Dingri County, it was finally decided to transport these foldable mobile box houses to Cuowa Village in Quluo Township.

The road to enter the village is very rugged and narrow, and it took more than an hour just to walk on the mountain road, "said Lu Wei. On the morning of January 11th, the foldable mobile box house was successfully delivered to Cuowa Village. Faced with high altitude and severe cold weather, everyone couldn't take a break and immediately began to work on the construction and site selection of the "Hefei Home" container houses.

Lu Wei told reporters that it took them nearly a day to complete the construction of this batch of box houses. "After selecting the site and leveling the land, we could start building the houses with a crane, and then we had to tighten the screws on the houses. From 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm, all 20 sets of foldable mobile box houses were built

Although it is a temporary resettlement house, this foldable mobile box house also has good cold resistance and insulation performance, and can withstand temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius. Xiong Feng, the general manager of Zeyu Color Steel, introduced, "After the construction of this folding box house, it will be a house of more than ten square meters. As long as it is plugged in, it can be used normally and can also be connected to air conditioning and heating equipment

Lu Wei revealed that the batch of box houses built by "Hefei Home" can meet the housing needs of 150-200 people. "There are a total of 109 households and 537 people in Cuowa Village, including 200 children under 10 years old and more than 100 elderly people over 60 years old. Some villagers' houses can still be inhabited normally, so this batch of box houses can solve the housing problems of many villagers

It is worth mentioning that the folding mobile box houses built for the earthquake stricken areas in Xizang have another warm story. On December 18, 2023, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in Jishishan County, Gansu Province. At that time, Zeyu Color Steel donated a batch of foldable mobile box houses. The first batch of box houses departed from Hefei on the evening of December 20th of that year to support the earthquake stricken areas in Gansu, allowing the disaster stricken people in Jishishan to live in warm "new homes"

Last month, these container houses ended their mission of supporting the earthquake stricken areas and were sold to distributors in Lhasa. After the earthquake, Zeyu Color Steel bought these box houses back to save time and continued to use them as earthquake relief supplies. Xiong Feng told reporters, "If we ship from Hefei to Xizang, it may take more than a week. We will buy 20 suites again, and we can respond to the earthquake area the next day after receiving help."

With a new mission, the group of folding rooms that helped the earthquake stricken areas in Gansu came to Dingri County and "rebuilt" the "Hefei Home" in the earthquake stricken areas in Xizang.

Lu Wei was satisfied with the activity of building temporary resettlement houses for the earthquake stricken areas in Xizang. "This time, the efficiency is very high. Not only did it come quickly, because we had the experience of supporting the disaster areas last time, our houses were built very quickly." At present, the completion of the construction of folding mobile box houses has also been completed, the incoming power is being connected in succession, and the houses have been handed over to the local for distribution.
